A few weeks ago I posted up a video on Youtube of my version of “Rude Boy” by Rihanna.
I don’t agree with any of her lyrical sentiments, but I thought it would be a fun project to take a song which is a popular radio track, and then try and give it a new flavour. I also sort of wanted to see what would happen when you take a song which is completely inappropriate and slow it down so people can actually hear what their listening to… it’s interesting. I felt uncomfortable singing it at first, until the artist in me just got over it. And I had fun creating my own tapestry of sounds to recreate it.
